Tokyo’s most important shrine is Meiji Jingu. It was built to commemorate Emperor Meiji, in 1920.
It’s a large shrine with a simple structure. You enter via a long path, and a torii-sized gate.
The shrine gets packed up on New Year’s Eve, when many people celebrate the New Year. Entrance is free.
Yoyogi Park in spring is awash with cherry blossoms, and there are people having a party under the trees.
