Osaka is a huge city that’s second in size only to Tokyo. Although our stay here was brief, this was the most memorable night in Japan.
We found the hostel after wandering through the adult club-filled street.
This is how we spent our day in Osaka.

Itinerary for a day in Osaka
The Osaka Aquarium, Kaiyukan. The aquarium was on our list because it is the biggest in the entire world.
This aqaurium is different from the others because instead of having dozens of tanks, it has 16 tanks that are 30cm in thickness and contain a variety of marine life. It is recommended that you visit this aqaurium if ever time permits. It’s a place where you can lose yourself in thoughts.
For dinner, we went to the main Strip in Osaka, Dotonbori. The strip is full of amazing neon signs that are constantly moving. A restaurant has even a crab that moves its legs.
We ate at the Salisbury Steak restaurant. Salisbury Steaks have their own restaurant, but it is not clear how they got there. However, the pictures of greasy steaks with a layer of velveeta tickled our fancy due to our current ramen-only diet. And why not give this “local” food a try? It was oddly decorated, like Joe’s Crabshack. There were random decorations all over.
It’s an interesting fact. Both Osaka and Hiroshima claim that Okonomiyaki was invented in their respective cities. This is also a must-try! We enjoyed it so much in Hiroshima. It is a fantastic experience. Be aware of the amount of food even though your stomach and eyes may not agree.
We didn’t have to look long for a bar where we could end our evening. In this little bar, we quickly discovered how friendly the locals are. We played a drinking card game with Cuervo and the locals. You will be surprised at how much alcohol they consume! BEWARE!
Osakais an amazing city that has a lot to offer. We will definitely return on our next visit to Japan.
If only we could remember where the bar was…
