Death Valley, even in US is considered one of the most exciting places on earth. Death Valley is often overlooked by potential tourists due to the belief that the landscape is lifeless and empty. However, there are many things to do in Death Valley.
What is Death Valley National Park like?
Death Valley, a valley of the Mojave Desert in eastern California bordering on the Great Basin Desert is located in Eastern California. About two hours are required to travel 130 miles to Death Valley from Las Vegas. There are a couple of tours from Las Vegas that take you to Death Valley.

The Artist’s Drive
This section of the park has rocks that have been colored by mineral deposits, giving it a look similar to an artist’s pallet.
Badwater
It’s also the lowest point of the Western Hemisphere, at 282 feet. The boardwalk, signs and trail lead out to the salt flats.
Dante’s View
A spectacular view can be seen from an overlook that is only a few miles away from Badwater but which is 4000 feet higher. It’s a long road, but it’s worth the trip. Towing a vehicle is not allowed on the Dante’s View road. A parking area has been provided to allow you to park your vehicle before you climb the steepest part.
Devil’s Golf Course – Devil’s Cornfield
This bizarre scene is made up of an enormous field of crystals of salt. These are beautiful, but please take your time to admire them. The crystals can be broken by a slight touch. It takes years for them to form again.
Echo Canyon
Just east of Furnace creek, there is a 4WD road.
Mustard Canyon
This popular trail is located north of Furnace creek and takes you through a canyon with brilliant colors. It is best to view the canyon from the end, where you have to traverse some narrow walls of the canyon and climb ladders. Star Wars fans will recognize the place as one of Jawa’s hideouts in Episode 3.
Mushroom Rock
The oddly-shaped rock can be found on the road to Furnace creek.
Natural Bridge
From Furnace creek, travel south. Natural Bridge can be found via dirt road just east of main road. The erosion of a streambed created this natural bridge, which is located in a narrow valley.
Salt Creek
Take the northbound route from Furnace creek. Salt Creek can be reached by a dirt road two miles from the main road. It’s a great place. Death Valley used to be a large lake that had fish. As the water dried and the salinity rose, the fish adapted. They are now restricted to one short salty stream that springs out of the desert and flows for about a hundred yards before disappearing back into the sand.

Zabriskie Point
Just east of Furnace creek, there is a popular viewpoint that photographers love. The view overlooks weathered canyons. The parking lot is only a 2-minute walk away from View.
